Tyson Fury has been inactive since last September when he suffered a hand injury when defeating Tomas Mrazek via a points win. Because of this he was stripped of his title for not being able to rematch McDermott. However, according to Steve Bunce Fury will face a TBA fighter this Friday March 5th, and will face McDermott this May if all goes well.

McDermott vs Chisora For Fury's Vacated English Title
Tyson Fury(9(7 KO's)-0-0) has been forced to vacate his British title because he will not be able to meet the British Board's obligation to rematch John McDermott in December due to a hand injury he sustained in his decision win over Tomas Mrazek.
The British Title will now be given to the winner of John McDermott(25(16 KO's)-6(2 KO's)-0) and London's unbeaten Derek "Del Boy" Chisora. Fury is supposed to fight the winner of these 2, and the winner of that will face the winner of Danny Williams(41(31 KO's)-8(4 Ko's)-0) and Sam Sexton(13(6 KO's)-1-0). Williams and Sexton will fight on February, 13th 2010. The winner of this fight will then be the British champion as well.
No dates have been named for McDermott vs Chisora match. Stay tuned for more information.
Here's what Tyson Fury had to say about losing the title and much more:
"I'm sick about it, but The BBB of C wouldn't give me any more time. My hand is still only about 80-percent. Two specialists have recommended I have an operation and it looks like I'll have to [have one]. The Board said they will match McDermott and Chisora for the vacant title and I'll get the winner in a final eliminator for the British. I won't lose my position and it gives me hand more time."

Maloney On Fury vs McDermott
Ahead of their British heavyweight title match on Friday, September 11th at The Brentwood Centre in Essex, England between Luke "Tyson" Fury 7-0 (7) and John McDermott 25-5 (16), promoter Frank Maloney had a few things to say..
"I am told there have been some massive bets among different factions in the travelling community..
"That doesn't surprise me because travellers are pretty fearless when it comes to putting their money where their mouth is.
"There is even a suggestion that someone in Essex has taken a £50,000 bet on Fury winning the fight which is nuts.
"There is going to be so much pride at stake between the fighters and fans that the atmosphere will be like a bear-pit and it makes for a wildly exciting match-up.
"It is a fascinating fight where McDermott is in the last chance saloon and Fury has to live up to his boasts. He'll look daft if he doesn't."
McDermott also had a few things to say...
"People don't realise I can box. I have a good left hand and my boxing is one of my best attributes.
"Look at Martin Rogan. He has a fantastic body, but I am not born like that. I run at a good pace for an hour some mornings and keep up with boxers of 11 stone. I train hard three times a day."

Tyson Fury To Fight Again On March 14th
With Tyson Fury winning his 3rd professional bout via KO, he is already scheduled in 2 weeks to face another opponent on the under card of the 'Battle of Brum' which will take place in Birmingham at the Aston Arena. Fury To Fight Peret
The 20-year-old up-and-coming heavyweight boxer Luke Tyson Fury will face Daniel Peret on Saturday, February 28th at the Norwich Showground, Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom.
Fury, the 2008 ABA super heavyweight champion, is coming off 2 KO wins and stands undefeated so far at heavyweight.
Here's what Fury's promoter Mick Hennessy had to say about Peret:
"Peret should be a good yardstick for him because he's already beaten Scott Belshaw and has never been stopped by any of the other British heavyweights he's fought like John McDermott or Derek Chisora."
